At the beginning of the 1930s, the watch was born of a challenge, that of designing a model that could withstand the polo matches of the British Army officers in India. Its dial smoothly concealed by reversing the case, to reveal a back that fully protects the face from possible mallet strokes.
The Art Deco style was inspired by a dream of a grand ideal, and the desire to offer the world a new aesthetic and new values. It sought a new balance, a symbiosis between form and function. With its elegant, rectangular lines and clear-cut gadroons, the case of the JaegerโLeCoultre Reverso watch takes its inspiration from these same ideals."
"In the heart of the Vallรฉe de Joux in the Swiss Jura, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture is constantly working to develop its creativity and inventiveness - and has been doing so since 1833.
Since its foundation, the Maison has created more than 1200 calibres that today enjoy a unique reputation in the watchmaking industry. Its legendary collections, such as the Reverso, which emerged from the Art Deco movement in 1931, the Master, with its classic and refined masculine lines, or even the Atmos, the pendulum clock with an almost eternal movement, are the foundation of the Manufacture's pride and the satisfaction of its loyal customers.
